The聽school resource management self-assessment checklist聽(SRMSAC) provides assurance to trust boards and senior leaders that their trust is meeting the basic standards for good financial health and resource management.

Academy trusts must complete and submit the SRMSAC to the Department for Education (DfE) annually.

The SRMSAC helps trustees and school leaders to identify changes that need to be made to use resources more efficiently. It provides examples of good practice and signposts support available to address issues.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency use the completed SRMSAC as assurance that the trust has used public money for the intended purposes as well as to assess financial risk.

Our guide is designed to help trust boards complete the SRMSAC. It explains the respective roles of trustees and trust leaders during the process and highlights opportunities for collaboration.
